The Wild Garlic, Ridley Hall, Northumbria.
These paintings were produced for an exhibition at the Queens hall Hexham which was titled The Secret Garden.
The work shown was painted at The Chester’s an 18th century walled garden, which is surrounded on three sides with beech and yew trees.
With an open aspect on the south side with views over the south Tyne valley and a Roman road is actually recorded as going through the garden
The Chester’s walled garden is very near the Housesteads Fort on the Roman Wall and the market town of Hexham Northumberland
